Teacher Resources

Welcome to Teacher Resources! I am working on compiling all the resources listed on this page as we speak! It will take a bit more time for me to finish everything up, but if you’d like to stay updated on our progress, fill out the email list below! You’ll get updates for blog posts, updates on website construction, and any specials we run!

Teaching is one of the best jobs on the entire face of the planet, especially when you are a Montessori elementary teacher. Buuuuuuut it is hard work.

Honing your art, your craft, takes time, commitment, and great effort. I know in my first year of teaching, I had a hard time keeping up with everything I needed to do as well as feeling confident that I had what it took.

Much of the time, we just need to figure out how we work as people and what works for us. Over the 10 years I have been teaching, I tried tons of different approaches to classroom management, lesson planning, record keeping, and developing systems. It ended up that creating and try things things was crazy amount of fun.

So I  decided I would share what worked for me and what didn’t. We all have to start somewhere. So no matter where you are in your journey, come on in and see if anything here sparks inspiration.

The first years of teaching are hard. It takes time to get settled into the craft, and sometimes can feel like you’ll never settle in.

Trust me when I say, you will. You CAN do this.

Classroom Systems

Having systems set up in your classroom is vital for successful classroom management.

When you have a general idea of how you want things to work and run, it gives you a starting point for fine tuning, gives you a frame work to build out from with the children, and gives you a road map to help you stay consistent.

I spent a couple years developing the way my classroom has run, and it has changed over time to fit with the current group of children.

Systems for Adults

In a classroom the adults are ultimately responsible for the comings and goings of a classroom. Having a plan for ourselves and any assistants is essential when having a normalized and successfully run classroom.

    Other Resources

It is my strong belief that we as Montessori teachers should work together as a community with a common goal: following the child and helping them to reach their fullest potential.

Not only do I feel like this should be accomplished by offering support in training, the classroom, or a life/work balance, but also in our creation of materials and stories.

Below please find links to material-making instructions or files. All I ask is that you are sure to credit your source in some manner, even if that is a “Oh! I got this from MEC! Let me know the website with you.”

Do you have something you’d like to share? Feel free to contact me and I would be happy to include it, with credit to you, of course.
